OnePlus 16 Arrives With a 9,000mAh Battery
The OnePlus 16 is now official in China, bringing substantial upgrades in battery capacity, processing power and photography. The smartphone features a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and features a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz in supported games. Everyday system navigation can reach 165Hz, delivering smoother scrolling and animations.

However, availability remains a major limitation. The OnePlus 16 is currently exclusive to China, with no confirmed release for Europe or North America.
OnePlus 16 Records Strong Early Sales
The new flagship reportedly sold more than 70,000 units during its first hour of availability, indicating strong initial demand in its home market.
Its combination of a large battery, fast charging and high-performance hardware makes it an attractive option for gamers and power users. Nevertheless, international buyers will have to wait for further announcements regarding availability in their respective markets.
Apple Opens iPhone Duo Pre-orders
Apple also made headlines as pre-orders opened for the iPhone Duo, its new foldable smartphone. Deliveries and retail sales are scheduled to begin the following week.
The device represents Apple’s latest move into the foldable phone category, with interest focused on its design, battery performance and integration with the company’s wider ecosystem.
Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max Bring Large Batteries
Poco highlighted its X8 Pro series, with the X8 Pro Max standing out for its 9,000mAh battery and 100W charging support.
The Pro Max is powered by the Dimensity 9500s chipset, while the standard X8 Pro uses the Dimensity 8500 Ultra. The lineup also emphasises durability, with IP69K protection and Gorilla Glass 7i.
The devices are positioned to appeal to users who prioritise performance, battery endurance and long-term software support.

Honor confirmed that its Win 2 series will debut in China on October 21, alongside the Win Tablet and Win Earbuds.
The Win 2 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, a 10,100mAh battery and an active cooling fan. The Win RT 2 is set to go even further with a 12,070mAh battery.
The upcoming lineup highlights the growing competition among Chinese smartphone manufacturers to deliver larger batteries and stronger sustained performance.
Google Introduces Fitbit Edge
Google unveiled the Fitbit Edge, a fitness tracker featuring a 1.34-inch OLED display, built-in GPS, ECG monitoring and more than 50 exercise modes.
The wearable also introduces Gemini-powered health coaching, automatic workout detection and up to seven days of battery life. One of its most notable features is a user-replaceable battery, a welcome development for consumers concerned about the longevity of wearable devices.
The Fitbit Edge is priced at $179.99 in the United States, with sales scheduled to begin on October 27.
Apple Expands Its Smart Home Ambitions
Apple also announced the HomeView, a smart home hub featuring a 7-inch touchscreen, an A18 chip and Siri with Apple Intelligence.
The device is designed to manage smart home accessories, support video calls and provide personalised interfaces for up to six household members. It also includes a 12MP camera with Center Stage and supports Thread connectivity.
Priced at $299, the HomeView is scheduled to go on sale on November 13. However, Apple will not offer it in the European Union because of regulatory issues surrounding Siri AI.

The OnePlus 16 led the smartphone conversation with its 9,000mAh battery and 185Hz display, while Poco and Honor continued to push battery capacities even further.
Meanwhile, Apple expanded its foldable and smart home ambitions, and Google introduced a fitness tracker with a replaceable battery and AI-powered coaching.
